Krystyna Burnett has been involved in the training arena for the past twenty years, in voluntary, private and public sectors.
Past experience includes training and development of groups aged between 16 and 80, many with additional needs from excluded groups i.e. long-term unemployed, lone parents and ex-young offenders.
A fully qualified tutor, assessor, and internal verifier, with teaching certificates in Literacy and Numeracy, and qualifications in Training and Development, Krystyna has been involved in NVQ development since the introduction of the pilot schemes in 1987 being one of the first centres is Derbyshire to take the lead for Erewash Training Services. Her specialism at the time being business and administration, customer service, information technology and communication skills.
Krystyna has worked for a variety of both National and Local Training Providers in both a training and senior managerial roles, training individuals of all age and ability ranges, not just in business and administration vocations but also in engineering where passion for water and freedom lead to management of an engineering training centre building narrowboats and giving those long term unemployed something to really enjoy as they learned new skills! Of course .... she learned to weld at the same time!
A spell in the voluntary sector followed working with womens groups opened up a whole new understanding of the word resilliant ... working with women facing homelessness and debt, escaping fear and moving on to build better stronger and safer futures for both themselves and their families, proving that with support and restored self believe change for the better is possible.
Krystyna then went on to work for another private training provider, ASL as Director of Training running contracts for local colleges for community training and pilots of Learn Direct, alongside this was a second suite for private training, where Krystyna personally trained corporate organisations in the full Microsoft Office Suite basics to advanced. Customers here included the Secretariat of Broxtowe Borough Council, Wathalls Funeral Directors of Derby and the staff and management of Robert Ellis Property Consultants.
Krystyna, who started her company in January 2001, is now involved in the development of Alliance Training Limited, writing courses for self-enhancement and business support services, and more recently coaching services for personal and business development. Her passion is people and helping them see their true amazing potential.
Krystyna has worked on a consultancy basis with Prostart Training www.prostartuk.co.uk , managing and delivering work preparation skills training and ICT training for young people, this has included learners on preparatory contracts who either did not yet know which area of work they preferred or alternatively, were not yet work ready, due mainly to their low self-confidence, or need for development of communication and life skills, lack of work ethics, health or personal/social problems.
Krystyna’s approach to this client group is to work on their self-esteem, aims and aspirations and to gently but firmly lead them through the transition from the school youth experience to that of the adult world of work and all that this incorporates, i.e. Citizenship, ownership of responsibilities and building on their basic skills as part of the process.
Her belief is that everyone is a diamond!
